This easy sidewalk chalk party favor is so fun to make and customize. It’s the perfect classroom-friendly idea for birthdays, holidays, or end-of-year treats!
My younger daughter Luna is turning 7 at the end of the month, and I always forget to put together party favors until the last minute.
Between planning birthday parties, getting the cake, and buying presents, I always put that part on the back burner.
Over the last few years, I’ve gone to Amazon, bought some of those little pop fidget toys, candy, Chinese finger traps, tattoos, and cheap keychains.
I am positive 99% of them get thrown away.

So this time around, I wanted to do something fun, affordable, and more practical.
Oh, and also without any candy or sweets because these kids have enough energy that their parents don’t need me to be providing more sugar for them… am I right?
So after some thinking, I decided cute chalk party favors would be fun to make!
Every kid loves chalk; they rarely get thrown away, and with the warmer weather out, it gets the kids outside more.

What You’ll Need to Make Sildwalk Chalk Favors
Sidewalk Chalk – I bought this kind from Walmart because it came with 48 pieces and it was under $4. I got 2 sets so each of her classmates could have 4 different colors. This set came with some neon chalk colors, tie-dye chalk colors, and regular chalk colors.
Clear Cellophane Treat Bags – I got a pack of 25 treat bags from Walmart. These ones came with twist ties but I just saved those for another craft.
Card Stock – I preferred to use white card stock to print off the chalk tags instead of regular paper. These are much more sturdy than regular paper.
Printable Tags – I created some cute printable tags on Canva. You can get this download at the end of this post!
How to Assemble Chalk Party Favors
Once you have all of your supplies, you can get started!
First, open up and divide all of the chalk.
Since there are tons of designs and colors, separate them to make sure no one gets 2 of the same color.
Then place the chalk into a clear cellophane treat bag.
Luna has 23 in her class, so I bought 2 boxes of chalk and gave each kid 4 pieces.
Then print and cut out the free printable favor tag.
Fold the top of the treat bag as well as folding the printable tag in half then staple the tag onto the treat bag.
Finally, feel free to add your kid’s name on the bottom!
Customizing the Favor for Any Party Theme
You don’t have to use this just for a birthday party.
You can customize the chalk party favors for any occasion!
Feel free to choose chalk colors that match the party theme (rainbow, Fourth of July, Christmas, pastels, neon, etc).
Add in some extra fun things like stickers, bubbles, or temporary tattoos.
This party favor is great for birthday parties, summer pool parties, back-to-school events, playdates, and so on!
