Learn how to make peppermint ice cream with the Ninja Creami to create an amazing protein ice cream!
When I think of peppermint ice cream, I think of Christmas!
It only comes around once a year and when it’s here, we just have to have some in our house.
This time around, I whipped up my own version of peppermint ice cream using my Ninja Creami.

I love coming up with new recipes so this one was a no-brainer.
For the peppermint flavor, I used peppermint extract and crushed up candy cane.
You can add as much or as little as you want depending on your preference of how strong you want the peppermint flavor to be,
Where To Get the Ninja Creami
I got mine on Amazon and actually, it was Prime Day!
I can seriously say it’s been one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
One fact you may not know about me is that I have a serious obsession with ice cream.
All the links to the Ninja Creami + Accessories are found on my Amazon Shop Page here!
It’s my favorite food.
So the fact that I can make it at anytime has been amazing (oh and it’s healthier too).
Why Did I get a Ninja Creami?
The reason I got a Ninja Creami machine is so I could make healthier versions of my favorite ice cream.
How is it healthier?
I use only a few ingredients and one of the main ones being protein powder.

My version has no heavy whipping cream, no cream cheese, no sugar, just a few simple ingredients but tastes amazing.

What Kind of Protein Powder Should You Use?
My favorite protein powder brand is Clean and Simple Eats.
I love it because the protein powder has 20g of protein, contains a digestive enzyme blend and is made up of natural ingredients.

They have tons of different flavors and even have sample flavors if you are not sure which one to try first.

I always recommend trying Simply Vanilla or Brownie Batter first and then try out ones like Snickerdoodle (my personal favorite) or a fun one like Cake Batter or Banana Foster.
Ingredients Needed for the Peppermint Ice Cream Recipe
Milk is the first ingredient you will need.
I switch between using Fairlife 2% (which contains 13g of protein per serving) and unsweetened almond milk with Good Culture cottage cheese.
Some people really don’t like cottage cheese BUT when you blend it, you really don’t taste it at all but you still get that added protein.
You can use whatever milk you want; oat milk, coconut milk, almond milk, regular milk, but for this recipe I used Fairlife 2% milk.

Next, pick out a vanilla protein powder you like to use.

Another thing I like to add is sugar-free White Chocolate Pudding mix.
This helps give it a bit of a sweeter flavor without all the added sugars.
You will also need peppermint extract and 2 mini candy canes for the peppermint flavor.
How to Make Peppermint Ice Cream Recipe with the Ninja Creami
Take a Ninja Creami pint container and fill it up with all the ingredients except the candy canes.
Next, take your frother and froth until all are combined. If you do not have a frother you can use a blender.

Freeze the mix for at least 8 hours but I typically like to do it overnight for about 24 hours so it can completely harden.
Take the container out and put it into the Ninja Creami and then blend on “Lite Ice Cream.”
Remove from the Ninja Creami and check to see what it looks like.
If it has a nice creamy texture then you can skip the next step. However, if the ice cream looks crumbly or a little stiff, make a hole in the middle and add about 1-2 tsp. of milk.

Put it back in the machine and hit “re-spin”.
When it’s done, add in some crushed candy canes and hit “mix-ins”.
After it’s done mixing, take it out and enjoy!

That is my Peppermint Ice Cream recipe!

PIN FOR LATER!

This is exactly what I was looking for to make. I normally make a low fat vanilla base , almond milk and cottage cheese and add fresh peaches but now that it’s getting cold I want to go to a vanilla base with peppermint. Due to dietary restrictions I am unable to use protein powder, cellulose etc. so my basic recipe was with almond milk, cottage cheese, and for the peach flavor-a spoonful of peach preserves and fresh peaches. I’m wondering if I can make this base similarly with almond milk and cottage cheese without any fruit preserves?
I don’t see why not! Can you add in vanilla extract for a bit of that vanilla flavor?
Instead of using vanilla protein powder can I use peppermint protein powder? Or does the vanilla give it the right taste?
Peppermint would be just fine! I would reduce the amount of peppermint extract then!
