Nothing like a blog post about healing your hoo-ha after giving birth… am I right?!
Since I am just two weeks away from giving birth to my second daughter, I thought this would be an appropriate topic to talk about.
What are padsicles exactly?
Well, they are frozen pads aka “cooling packs” with magical healing powers to get your vagina feeling back to normal. Everybody goes through childbirth differently however, we can pretty much sum it up in one word.. ouch.
These amazing padsicles are covered in witch hazel, dotted with aloe vera and spritzed with lavender.
It’s like a spa day for your vagina.
Shall we begin?
First, partially unwrap the pad wrapper and take out the pad. *I say partially because you’ll end up putting the pads back in the wrapper.
Then, generously pour about 2 tsp. of witch hazel all over each pad. Witch hazel helps reduce swelling and fight bacteria to help prevent infection down there. It can also help stop the bleeding.
Note: Make sure the witch hazel is alcohol-free!
Next, brush on the aloe vera and be sure it is the gel kind. Aloe vera helps hydrate the skin as well as promotes healing and soothes those lady parts.
The last step is using either lavender essential oils or lavender spray and add a few drops or spritz onto the pads. The lavender helps reduce inflammation and is a calming effect for the skin.
Now that your maxi pads smell like a spa, it is time to wrap them back up and stick them in the freezer until you come home from the hospital.
Trust me… your vagina will thank you.
