This post is about Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, a beautiful all inclusive family resort!
Earlier this month my sister-in-law got married in Cancun, Mexico and we had such a wonderful time!
She chose to have her destination wedding the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun and it was just so beautiful that I knew I had to share a little bit about this kid friendly all inclusive resort with you.

We left our house at 3:30am on a Friday (so early) to make our way over to the airport.
The two flights were smooth (thank you Delta) and even the layover wasn’t bad.
When we arrived to the airport in Mexico we had to wait a little bit in customs but once we got through we found our transportation and headed on over to Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun.

*If anyone is looking for travel arrangements in Cancun, Mexico I highly recommend Lomas Travel. They were easy to work with and super helpful throughout the whole process.
The drive from the airport to the resort only took about 20 minutes and my kids were zonked out.
We arrived around 1pm and our room was not ready yet as check-in isn’t until 4pm so we left our bags in one of our family members rooms, changed, and went straight to the pool.
Day one was filled with pool time, rehearsal dinner practice (we were all in the wedding), and hanging out with family and friends. It was a fun-filled day!
The check in was easy although finding our room was a little bit harder. Took us about 20 minutes of walking around but we did end up finding it and loving our room.
Now I am going to talk about the resort and the awesome amenities and features Hyatt Zivia Riviera Cancun had to offer.
Rooms and Amenities
I can’t believe it but I didn’t take a single picture of the room!
I do have some views of our balcony, from our balcony and on the bottom level of our building.

We chose the Tropical Room Junior Suite which had 2 double beds.
The view we had from our room was actually pretty incredible. I think we got lucky considering we chose the least expensive room option.
Each room comes with a restocked mini-bar, a spa tub, room service, complimentary Wi-Fi and a private balcony,
Not only that, but the rooms were so big! I was impressed!
Restaurants and Bars
One of the best parts about staying at an all inclusive resort is the unlimited amount of food and drinks available!
I couldn’t tell you how many chocolate milks and pina colada mocktails my kids had but what I can tell you is that they had so much fun!
There are 8 dining venues, 7 bars and lounges and this amazing coffee café that I went to all the time.
The bars were fabulous. Stocked with literally anything you could want and the bartenders were very attentive.

There was one main bar inside the building called Infusions. I enjoyed coming to this bar a few times before the wedding.

The Breeze bar is right outside of the main building and is smack dab in the middle of the resort.
It is a great bar but tends to get pretty busy in the evening.
There is a swim up bar at the main pool called Delfin which was fun to order drinks from.
A few other bars included a VIP Lounge bar, a Sports Bar, and a few others.
When you go to Roots you need to ask for a hot caramel macchiato with oat milk. It was my go-to after the early morning gym sessions.
My kids loved Roots for their endless amounts of ice cream, toppings, and candy.

My favorite place to eat was called Habaneros.
It was overlooking the ocean and had amazing Baja fish tacos, ceviche, and spicy margaritas!
I ate those Baja fish tacos three times on that trip.
My husband got steak tacos a few times from there and said they were also really good.

Keep in mind, this place does get windy since its right by the water so there are days that the restaurant will close but they will open it up inside another restaurant for lunch.

We ate at an Italian restaurant one night called Vivace. Although my dish wasn’t the best and I wouldn’t recommend it, they serve this amazing Caico e Pepe which we all got to try.

This pasta dish was an upgrade (as were some other dishes at each restaurant) so keep that in mind when ordering.

Ki was the Mexican restaurant and had such amazing fajitas, watermelon salad, and appetizers.
I was really pleasantly surprised with how good their food was!
We also had the buffet every morning at Afthonia which consisted of every breakfast and brunch item you could think of.
We had made reservations for Hibachi on our last day but unfortunately their reservation systems completely messed up so we missed out on hibachi. However, we still got to eat their delicious sushi and other dinner items.
Pool and Water Activities
There are nine, yes nine pools to choose from.

The main pool was was smack down right in the middle of the resort and had a swim up bar.
We loved the main pool because my five-year-old was able to be in it by herself because it was shallow enough. It also had daily activities and events for adults and kids.
There were a few other pools that were scattered around the resort that were smaller, a little deeper, but just as fun.
One interesting part about this was resort was the cabanas.
You could rent out the cabanas every day (about $69-$99) and have it from 8am-8pm. When you rent a cabana, you have a server who checks on you every 20 minutes or so. They will bring you drinks, coconuts, food, etc.

One negative thing about the pools is that if you don’t put your towel on a chair by 7am, most of the chairs are taken up. Luckily I would be either going to the gym at 6am and put one down or we already had our plans for the day and didn’t need chairs.
Other great spots were the water slide and splash pad areas.
I forgot to take photos of them but you can see them on the website.
My oldest and I definitely went down the waterslides few times while my youngest swam around at the other end with my husband.
The splash pad was fun too!
We were actually in Cancun on the day of the eclipse so when were by the pool one day someone let us borrow their glasses to see the eclipse!

It was so cool!
Other Amenities at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun
As mentioned, I did go to the gym almost every day and their gym was nice!
It was packed with cardio equipment and weights and had everything I needed for a good workout.

When we were getting ready for the wedding I was able to get my hair done at the spa there.
Some of the bridesmaids got their makeup done too!
I know a lot of people who ended up going to the spa for a massage, hydrotherapy, sauna, steam room, and more.
We never did it since we have our kids with us but it did come highly recommended.

The nightly entertainment was a blast too!
We saw fire dancers, magicians, singers and more.
So much amazing talent here!

Host Your Wedding at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun
As I said earlier, the reason we went on this trip was to see my sister-in-law get married.
My whole family was in the wedding. Rosie and Lunas were flower girls, my husband was one of the groomsmen and I was one of the bridesmaids.

If you are looking to have a destination wedding, I highly recommend Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun.
The venue was stunning, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was outstanding.
A Wonderful Trip for Family
I cannot recommend Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun enough.
So many great memories were made and our whole family had a blast.
My next BIG trip is in November with my amazing co-workers and although I can’t share where I am going just yet, I know it’s going to be a blast!
