Although this post is a tad really late… if you haven’t checked out my Instagram you wouldn’t know that I finally found out the gender of my second baby!
In 2016 my husband and I held a gender reveal party with a lot of our friends and family to find out the gender of our first one.
So nerve-wracking and exciting and I totally cried when pink confetti flew out of the black balloon. This time around we decided that we wanted it to be more intimate. So, instead of hosting a party or finding out during the anatomy scan we asked the nurse write it down and stick in an envelope so we could take it home and open it with Rosie.
She did just that and sent us on our way.
A ton of people asked us what we thought the gender would be. I thought boy and Chris thought girl. I thought it was interesting that a lot of people thought I wanted a boy since I already had a girl.
Secretly, I wanted Rosie to have a little sister even though I would have still been very happy with a boy.
Turns out…
I got my wish! Another baby girl was on the way. I cried this time too… I couldn’t help it!
If you couldn’t tell… Rosie is quite excited about having a little sister! Or maybe she was just excited to throw around some confetti and make a mess?
There are a few reasons why I wanted to have another girl. One was already mentioned (wanting Rosie having a sister). I have a twin sister and really appreciate how close we are and want to see the same for Rosie. Another was the amount of girl items we currently have… there is no need to purchase anymore clothes for baby #2! Such a good feeling. The third reason is that I have experience with raising a baby girl and know what to expect… kinda (yes, I know all babies are different). Like, how the HECK do you change a boy’s diaper? That would be a question for Julie.
I already have a few DIY projects up my sleeve for her nursery so stay tuned!
So here we are… two girl cats, a girl dog, a daughter, another daughter on the way, myself and my sweet husband who will remain the only male until we get a boy dog and who knows when that will be.
Love you hubs.
My aunt got us the awesome letter board from here.
