You guys…I finally got a free week of groceries!
I love setting goals for myself and one of them was to earn at least $100 cash back on my Ibotta app.
The $100 back was going to be a free week of groceries for our family.
Well, I am happy to say that to date (September 12, 2019) I have earned $179.83 cash back. So, this post is going to talk all about the Ibotta app and how I ended up buying food for free!
Here’s the thing… if I can get over $100 cash back, so can you. Honestly, it’s the easiest thing ever.
If you’re like me with two little ones at home that are growing like crazy, I knew I had to find a way to save money when shopping and I am always on the search for a good money-saving, coupon-clipping, cash-back app.
At first, I was incredibly skeptical of all the people who talked about these so-called apps and how they saved “X” amount of dollars or got “X” amount of cash back.
To be frank, I thought it was all BS and way too good to be true. It just couldn’t be that easy.
Then I decided to give it a try.
So, I did my research and found some popular “cash-back” apps such as Ratuken (formally Ebates), Honey and Ibotta and downloaded them all.
I use Ratuken on my iPhone and computer, Honey on my computer and Ibotta on my iPhone.
I’ll cover Ratuken and Honey another time… today is all about my favorite money-saving app, Ibotta.
What is Ibotta?
Ibotta is a cash back app that allows you to earn money back from certain purchases. It partnered with over 300 stores and not only can you save money on groceries, but you can save money on clothing, restaurants, electronics, and more.
Is Ibotta Legit?
Yes! Oh my gosh, I wish I knew about this when it first came out. I would have probably tripled my cash back by now.
I am always skeptical when I read about people earning money so easily so I was unsure about Ibotta at first. But, you’ve gotta trust me on this.

How to Use Ibotta:
First, download the app here.
Next, view your offers. Find which store(s) you want to go to, then select items or “offers” you want to earn cash back on.
After you purchase those items, scan your receipt.
Boom. You’ve just earned cash back from shopping! It’s so easy.
Once you redeem your first offer you’ll receive an additional $10 cash back!

Other Reasons Why I Love Ibotta:
*If you forget to add offers before you shop, you have 7 days to add them before the receipt expires so make sure you don’t throw away your receipts until you scan them! I’ve done this a few too many times…
*You can make money with Ibotta. For example, I have a Dollar Tree near me which means everything there is $1.00 or less. So, according to the Dollar Tree on Ibotta, “Chilly Cow” Light Ice Cream would give me $1.05 cash back. Therefore, I would actually earn .05 cents on it. Dollar Tree also has a ton of offers for $1.00. So after you buy them and redeemed the receipt, they would be 100% FREE!

As I mentioned earlier, I am using my $120.05 cash back from Ibotta to buy my family a free week of groceries.
