Cleaning is a form of therapy for us. When we tell people we love to clean we get a ton of strange looks. Most people H A T E to clean but we jump at the opportunity to de-clutter, sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, whatever it may be! It calms us. We are such weirdos.
After having kids, its has been much harder to keep the house clean and not only that, it is much messier! Hello baby toys! Every time we try to put something away it always ends up back on the floor in 30 minutes or less. However,we don’t let it stop us. We often go through two big cleanings a year and they usually take place during the “Fall and Spring cleaning” time. Another thing we love to do is make lists so of course we made some sort of list full of cleaning ideas below.
Try to include your kids while cleaning. They love to help with little chores like throwing things away or ripping up old papers!
We go through the checklist and throughout our cleaning sprees we make 2 piles – donate and trash which helps us stay on track. Some of the items take us longer than a day to complete such as going through old clothes to donate or going through the storage on the computer. Leah recently discovered she had over 3000 photos on her phone so she might need to add that to the list! Also, since Julie is moving (big news to share later) it is the perfect opportunity for her to de-clutter. This cleaning list could go on and on but for now, lets stick with the basics!
We have included our checklist below which you can also print out and stick to your fridge like we do.

Ever since we became a mom it has all become clear to us that we had too much stuff. It is time to stop spending so much time buying the “latest and greatest” and instead enjoy the moments with your family. Time flies by too quickly.
