So now we are talking about Blackstone cinnamon rolls.

Well, smashed cinnamon rolls for that matter.
They kind of resemble pancakes when you are done with them but with the crunchy outside and super soft and fluffy inside, they are pretty irresistible!
Which Blackstone Griddle to Get
Although I am not an expert at picking out Blackstone griddles, I did ask my husband why he chose the particular one we currently have.

We have the Blackstone 36″ Culinary Omnivore Griddle with Hood 4-Burner Liquid Propane Flat Top Grill.
My husband chose this one because of the construction of the plate and the fact that it retains heat longer and distributes it more evenly.
This particular Blackstone requires fewer BTUs which means less energy used (less propane to maintain those high temperatures) and doesn’t compromise the cooking power.
I got it for him for Father’s Day in 2023 and I am not joking when I say we have used it over a hundred times since!

Ingredients Needed for Blackstone Cinnamon Rolls
The best part about this recipe is it calls for two ingredients, cinnamon rolls and butter!
Cinnamon Rolls –
We opted to use Trader Joes Jumbo Organic Cinnamon rolls because honestly, that’s what I had in my fridge.
You could use Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls or any other store-bought cinnamon roll. I do recommend getting the jumbo size though.

Another option is to use homemade cinnamon rolls but I like to have a quick and easy breakfast recipe so we did not go that route
Butter –
You will need to butter your Blackstone ahead of time.
We like to use clarified butter/Ghee because of the high smoke point.
However, with this recipe, you will be cooking it on low so any type of butter works.
How to Make Blackstone Cinnamon Rolls
Follow these super easy instructions on how to make smashed cinnamon rolls on your Blackstone griddle.
Set your Blackstone griddle on low heat.
Then lightly grease the griddle with butter (you can do oil too if you wish). You just need this to make sure the cinnamon rolls don’t stick to the Blackstone.
Separate the cinnamon rolls and put them on the preheated griddle.

You will want to ensure there is enough space between each one because when you press down, the cinnamon rolls will spread out.
Take your round parchment paper and put it on top of the cinnamon roll.

Use your heavy-duty griddle spatula and chopper to help push down the cinnamon roll to flatten it out.
Peel off the parchment paper slowly and move on to the next cinnamon roll until each one has been smashed.

Cover them with a dome lid so they can cook a bit on the inside without burning the bottom.
Check the bottoms of the cinnamon rolls frequently because they can burn quickly!

When the cinnamon rolls are a golden brown color, flip them over and cook for a few more minutes.
After both sides are golden brown, take them off of the Blackstone griddle, warm up the icing, and pour it over the smashed cinnamon rolls.

How to Store Blackstone Cinnamon Rolls
If you have any leftover cinnamon rolls, you will need to store them the right way.
Typically we layer the cinnamon rolls and put parchment paper between them. Then store them in a Ziplock bag or airtight container.

They will stay fresh for about 3-4 days in the fridge or about 30 days in the freezer.
How to Reheat Smashed Cinnamon Rolls
If you are looking to reheat the griddle cinnamon rolls the next day just put them in a pan and loosely wrap it in foil.
Bake in the oven at 300 degrees for just a few minutes until it is completely warmed through.
Keep in mind, the icing may run a little bit and the rolls may be a little firmer but they will still taste just as good!
But honestly, ours never last past the first day!
