Guess what? I turn 30 tomorrow!
So many people worry about turning 30. They panic, say how “old” they feel, or just mope around.
Boo-hoo you’re turning another year older… shouldn’t that be a blessing?!
Honestly, I am excited to embrace it!
Although the twenties were awkward and wonderful at the same time, I feel as though the thirties will be filled with adventures, fun with my growing family and some stability.
What are my birthday plans you ask?
Well, since I am currently 29 weeks pregnant, there will be no winery, no happy hour celebration and no popping bottles (I normally celebrate my birthday at a winery every year).
Instead, my twin sister and I are going to The Wharf in DC – totally different blog post to come… and then I will be celebrating that evening with my parents! My husband, Rosie and I plan to celebrate on Saturday.
To be honest, I have forgotten a few times that my birthday is tomorrow. I am so focused on my second daughter’s arrival that I have not had a minute to think about myself.
I have, however, had time to plan this blog post through with my “30 Things To Do in My 30’s” list because as you all know, Julie and I love to make lists!
It’s quite comical that when you go onto Pinterest you notice a ton of blog posts about 30 things to do before you are 30 so I took it upon myself to create my list below –
30 Things To Do in My 30’s
one – Start a wine collection. I have been purchasing and saving bottles of wine for the last few months. I did this when I was pregnant with Rosie too… it’s so exciting to see all the wine saved up for after I give birth! However, I want to start a collection and not just drink it all. Any suggestions on your favorite types of wine?
two – Pay it forward more.
three – Climb Old Rag Mountain.
four – Plan more parties with family and friends.
five – Learn how to grill.
six – Read more books. Recommendations anyone?
seven – Travel more (even if it is local).
eight – Run a half marathon. I got close once… made it 12 miles and decided to stop. Don’t ask me why.
nine – Move to a bigger home.
ten – Make fancy cocktails… because who doesn’t want to be fancy?!
eleven – Learn calligraphy. My sister gave me all of the stuff I needed to learn how to do it, I just need to get a move on.
twelve – Take our family to Prince Edward Island . My relatives have a Summer house there so I want to take the kids and Chris!
thirteen – Spend more time outdoors. Whether this be apple picking, going on a picnic, taking a hike, etc.
fourteen – Build stronger relationships with friends.
fifteen – Get rid of old “baggage.”

sixteen – Become debt free. I heard a lot of good things about Dave Ramsey and the “Debt Snowball.”
seventeen – Grow our Confetti Girl Diaries Blog. We celebrate 6 months of blogging next month!
eighteen – Take our family to Disney World.
nineteen – Perfect my photography skills.
twenty – Try out new restaurants around the area.
twenty one – Become more of a minimalist. Learn more about that here. I do not plan on becoming a full on minimalist but I want to have less “stuff” and enjoy more of the little moments in life.
twenty two – Learn how to rock climb. My sister would appreciate this one as this is something she loves to do and wants me to try.
twenty three – Go on more dates with my hubby.
twenty four – Try raw oysters. I have wanted to do this for some time now but something always seems to happen (ahem… pregnancy).
twenty five – Worry less and have more fun.
twenty six – Learn extreme couponing. Julie has learned how to do this and will share it on a blog post at some point. I am all about saving money!
twenty seven – Be more confrontational and have more confidence. I hate confrontation.
twenty eight – Go on a hot air balloon ride. I have wanted to do this since I was a little girl! Groupon usually has some pretty good deals on this.
twenty nine – Wear less black and more color. This may seem like a weird thing to put here but I wear black almost every single day. Ever since I became an event planner I have always incorporated black into my wardrobe but after this pregnancy, I want to liven things up a bit.
thirty – Wake up everyday and just enjoy the life I have been blessed with!
I made a fancier list below to print out and put on my fridge as a reminder.
Does anyone else have a birthday this month or are turning thirty this year? We would love to hear what you have planned for your special day!
Talk to you when I’m thirty!
xoxo…
