This post is all about Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls!
One of my favorite things to wake up to is the smell of cinnamon rolls cooking in the morning. It’s literally the best smell.
However, now I am the one making them and my kids are waking up to the smell, HA!
I thought these were one of the most creative cinnamon roll recipes I’ve seen in a while and was so excited to try it out. Especially since Valentine’s Day is less than a week away.
How to Make Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls
First thing you need to do is pick out what cinnamon rolls you plan on using. I chose the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls but you can also get the Pillsbury Grand Cinnamon Rolls (they will just be much bigger).
You can even do homemade cinnamon rolls or really any kind from the store that you like.
You will also need icing (which typically comes with the cinnamon roll) and some cute sprinkles.
Step #1 is to unravel the cinnamon rolls. This is the next step to create the easy heart shaped cinnamon roll.
After it is unraveled, start taking both ends and rolling them in a little bit.
Then, put them together and shape like heart.
It’s already starting to look so cute!
The next step is to get a round baking dish. I like my cinnamon rolls to touch while baking because it keeps the heart shape intact.
I used a 9″ round baking pan and coated it with a little bit of olive oil before adding the heart shaped cinnamon rolls.
Bake the cinnamon rolls according to the directions and in the meantime, take the icing out of the packet it came in and put it in a bowl.
Mix the icing with 1 drop of pink food coloring. I use this food coloring gel from Amazon. I like this one because it is so vibrant and you only need 1 drop to get such a beautiful color.
Mix until the icing is completely pink.
Then, take out the cinnamon rolls and let them cool just a bit.
If you add the pink icing on right away it will just run off the heart shaped cinnamon rolls and you’ll be left with a mess!
One slightly cooled, spread the pink icing onto the cinnamon roll.
I found this easiest to do with a butter knife.
Quickly add sprinkles before the icing gets hard and let it cool a little more.
My kids were so excited to wake up to this pink heart shaped cinnamon roll for breakfast.
Why You’ll Love this Recipe
Not only will you love this easy to make cinnamon roll for breakfast but I just know your kids will love it as well.
I mean you can’t go wrong with heart shaped food, pink icing, and cute pink sprinkles!
It’s quick to whip up for an easy breakfast. You could even make these before school if needed.
How to Store Cinnamon Rolls
If you end up having leftover cinnamon rolls they can be saved and reheated at a later time.
First, make sure that they are completely cooled. Then grab an airtight container and place them in one layer in the container.
Store in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Mine typically only last one extra day because they are just that good.
How to Reheat Pink Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls
Looking to reheat them the next day?
Put them in a pan and loosely wrap it in foil.
Bake in the oven at 300 degrees for about 5-7 minutes until it is completely warmed through.
Keep in mind, the icing may run a little bit and the rolls may be a little firmer but they will still taste just as fabulous!
