Well, I’m on day 15 of eating clean/non-processed foods and let me tell you… it really isn’t that bad. Like, it’s definitely a lot easier than I thought it would be.
Maybe my body was telling me I needed a change?
I think the hardest part is figuring out which recipe to cook since there are so many great ones out there! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are easy for me to whip together but how can I get my chocolate without falling off of the clean eating plan?
I remember making black bean brownies in the past and went to look up the recipe to see if this would work for my clean eating routine.
It did! I was so excited.
The recipe I found was from Chocolate Covered Katie. I followed her recipe pretty closely but made just a few adjustments to some of the ingredients.
Trust me when I say, these honestly do not taste like beans. They 100% taste like fudgy brownies without the guilt! Also, a little trick to make them extra ooey-gooey is to microwave them for about 15-20 seconds.

Why not take it a step further and add some nice cream on top? Nice cream is a combo of frozen bananas and a splash of milk blended together.
Your clean, non-processed (but extra delicious) dessert is served! This recipe should definitely help curb any chocolate craving you may have.
Is it bad that I hid the pan of brownies from my girls so they wouldn’t eat it all? I mean, they have a whole bag of candy that I can’t eat so I thought it was only fair!
The thing about these black bean brownies is that they literally taste like the real thing. If you were blindfolded and I fed you regular brownies and black bean brownies I swear you wouldn’t be able to taste the difference!
Seriously, go ahead and try it for yourself.
After you bake the brownies let them settle a little bit in the pan. Another trick is to let them cool and then stick them in the fridge for a little while to harden up a bit. That way they are easier to handle (unless you’re like me and eat them right out of the pan).
Ooey goodness.
I ate the whole pan in about a week. There were days where I’d have one piece and then there were days I’d have three.
Seriously, I’m not kidding.
I may need a black bean brownie intervention.
Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, maybe add a drizzle of pink chocolate or even some cute Valentine sprinkles to the recipe! A fun touch to make them extra pretty and delicious!
Ok, ok, enough talk about how good they are… let’s get to making these brownies!
