After doing the daily monotonous tasks of changing diapers, meal prepping, laundry, cleaning, etc… we just needed a B R E A K! The husbands both said yes to a day of babysitting so we immediately took a mom’s day out (flash back to pre-parenthood)!
First, we attempted to go to Hidden Julles to sample their homemade hand pies but it was a complete zoo (we think everyone else had the same idea as us) and they were sold out! We will be back there on another mommy date shortly!
So we took the short trip to Trummer’s Coffee and Wine Bar for a little R&R with some coffee and brunch!
Since Leah is expecting and can only have a limited amount of caffeine a day (Leah LOVES her coffee), we decided to share a home brewed cafe late. and Leah got the Greek Yogurt Parfait whch was served with homemade fruit compote, homemade granola and a honey drizzle while Julie sampled the Caprese Panini and the Berry Pie with homemade whipped cream.
It was Julie’s full intention to bring back half of the berry pie to her hubby as a thank you for watching Brayden but instead Leah and Julie ate the whole thing. Fortunately, across the street there was a locally owned dessert shop called Simply Desserts so we decided to peak in. The shop was filled with an assortment of our favorite macarons, cakes, pastries, pop-tarts, petite desserts and cupcakes!
Julie ended up going with an assortment of mini cheesecakes to take home to her family. The flavors were, cookies n’ cream, toffee crunch, and New York Style Cheesecake. SO GOOD.
We ended our day back at Leah’s house and held a small birthday celebration for Julie complete with a card, flowers and of course a lemon champagne CUPCAKE because you can never have enough sweets!
**Please excuse our iPhone photo taking skills… we decided to leave the real camera at home to truly enjoy our mom’s day out!
